A lot has happened since July, including:
1) The DOJ issued a grand jury subpoena to Otter Tail (OTTR), indicating a criminal antitrust investigation is underway (Financial Times)
2) Multiple class action lawsuits have been filed against the PVC manufacturers (Reuters, Plastics News)
3) And now, OPIS is discontinuing publication of the PetroChem Wire PVC & Pipe Weekly Report.
ManBear has questions about the abrupt ending of the report. After publicly defending the report (see statement in this article) and continuing to publish for months after the price fixing allegations, why has Dow Jones (OPIS’ parent company) suddenly decided to end the report? Why is the “solution” removing transparency from the PVC market, leaving contractors and municipalities in the dark?

OPIS NOTICE:
Dear Subscriber,
OPIS has decided to end the publication of the PetroChem Wire PVC & Pipe Weekly Report. The last issue was published on November 22, 2024.
